The Turning Tide

Dear Friends,
I have been following the critics list for
about two years now. I find Mr.Staudenmaier's behaviour to be
insidious in his attempt to recreate Steiner in his view. I feel
like the tide is turning in favor of the truth of Dr. Steiners
work regarding those who wish to tear it down for no other reason
than to elevate themselves in the world such as Mr. Staudenmaier
that serves 1) a godless world and 2) his own personal fame.
The reason I write today is because I am really
inspired by Joels response to Peter. It's as if I can sense Peters
shrinking, like the wicked witch of time, before my very own
eyes.
I did find my self a bit worried watching
this man try to connect Dr. Steiner to the Holocaust and Adolf
Hitler. We could fight him with all kinds of proof yet he still
just twisted things to his own thinking in the hopes of inspiring
others to look upon Anthroposophists as a group who do not know
their own history regarding their teacher. And the more studied
one was in Anthroposophy the more ignorant Peter claimed him
to be. He used three word quotes and made up the rest of the
paragraph to show Dr. Steiners complicity in very nasty things
that happened in Germany fifteen years after his death.
But something changed today in the manner
that Joel responded. It was like an attack on the intellectual
empty soul that has asked for the truth of who it is. It feels
almost like no matter what Peter blusters about his game has
been found out. We knew it before but I have never seen it tagged
so eloquently and efficiently as Joel did today.
It was nice to see the tables turned,
Dottie

It was nice to see the tables turned,
So true Dottie. I've known for a long time
that the heartless accusations of a mechanistic way of thinking,
are so devoid of what I consider to be true empathy. Peter has
said to me that that he uses empathy in his historical research,
but I still can't seem to find it in his writings.
When I was working as a volunteer in an adolescent
drug rehab, I was able to connect with some of the kids on a
very personal level. I could look them in the eye and see their
tortured souls, and know what it was like to live a life that
is devoid of meaning; and at the same time, I could tell that
they knew, that I knew.
The value of this kind of human experience
gets chewed up by intellectual discourse and "Textural analysis";
where our understanding of each other gets branded with a period
at the end of a sentence.
I want to thank Joel for having the courage
to jump in and mix things up over there. For me it has always
felt like jumping into shark infested waters, and I think it
quite a sacrifice of time and effort -- Thanks Joel !!
And thank you to Dottie for all your "waxing
eloquent". ;^)
Truth and Love; They always win in the end.
Mike
